Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions make up the agreement between you, the client, and New Zealand Me Limited operating under Student Trips. (Hereafter referred to as “Student Trips”). These Terms and Conditions concern the products (trips & events) and the usage of our website. These Terms and Conditions are available on our website and, on request, can be sent to you by Student Trips free of charge. The Terms and Conditions and all matters arising in respect hereof shall be subject to New Zealand Law and apply to the extent that they are NOT inconsistent with, or in contravention of, any obligation imposed on Student Trips by New Zealand Law.
Article 1. APPLICATION PROCESS
1.1) You must be aged between 18 & 30 (inclusive) but Student Trips may, in its absolute discretion and in exceptional circumstances, accept persons outside of this age limit.
1.2) It is compulsory that you take out travel insurance cover before you travel with us. Please check that the insurance covers all of the activities that you are going to be participating in, as Student Trips cannot be held responsible for your failure to take out appropriate insurance. You also agree to indemnify us against all third-party claims, actions, damages and remedies which may be brought against us in respect of your participation on a Trip.
1.3) To get your ticket and reserve your placement on a Trip, simply follow our shopping cart instructions to apply and pay via our website.
1.4) You will receive a confirmation email after the booking has been made.
1.5) We send out a newsletter that describes upcoming events and activities you might be interested in. Should you wish to opt out, there is the possibility to do so at the bottom of the email.
Article 2. PAYMENT
2.1) Student Trips may decline the booking of any person or remove any passenger who cannot or refuses to comply with our Terms and Conditions. Student Trips is not responsible for any costs incurred in the event a person is removed from a Trip.
2.2) Be advised discount vouchers or coupons are at all times traceable and may only be used by applicants who have legitimately received them.
2.3) All prices are quoted in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) and include a 15% Goods & Services Tax.
2.4) Don’t forget your discount codes! If you were eligible for a code but did not enter it at the time of booking, we will reimburse you the discount codes savings, in cash, at our office. Only claims within a seven day time frame after booking will be considered.
Article 3. CANCELLATION
3.1) In the event that during a Trip certain activities have to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, Student Trips will attempt to arrange alternative activities. Certain components of our Trips are often weather dependent and we cannot be held liable if they are not available on the day.
3.2) A refund will be paid by Student Trips to the participants if the alternative turns out to be cheaper than the planned activity.
3.3) In the event Student Trips cannot find an adequate replacement activity we will inform the participants as soon as possible and you will receive a full refund equal to the purchase price by our company from our activity partners.
3.4) Refunds cannot be made for unused portions of the Trip.
3.5) Every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of the website and any pamphlets in respect to Student Trips at the time of going to print, however Student Trips cannot be held responsible for printing/typographical or other such errors and consequently reserve the right to cancel a booking and issue a full refund.
3.6) The pre-booking fee is subtracted from the total price of the Trip(s). The remaining balance for such a pre-booked trip(s) must be paid no later than 3 weeks prior to the commencement of the Trip(s). Failing this, both the seat and 25NZD (or 50NZD) pre booking fee is forfeited.
3.7)The remaining balance for pre-booked trip(s) must be paid no later than 1 week after receiving a payment request when a trip has been SOLD OUT. Failing this, both the seat and 25NZD (or 50NZD) pre booking fee is forfeited.
3.8) Trips are transferable up to 72 hours before the commencement of the trip. An admin fee of $50 applies.
3.9) Deal bookings (Like for example the 5 for 3 deal) are non refundable and non transferable.
Cancellation policy (All Trips exc. Australia, Fiji and South Island)
3.6) We ask that notice of cancellation be made over the phone to our Student Trips office.
3.7) All payments are required to be made within 48 hours of signing up for a Trip.
3.8) Upon cancellation you will be liable to pay a fee to cover the estimated cost and expenses incurred by us as shown in the table set out below. This is expressed as a percentage of the total trip’s price:

Please note a minimum cancelation charge of 50 NZD applies.
Cancellation policy (South Island Tour)
3.9) Below are the Cancellation policies for the South Island travel pass as facilitated by our affiliate, Kiwi Experience Ltd.
3.10) Your deposit of $500NZD for the South Island tour is non-refundable upon cancellation by you. The cancellation fees are expressed below:

Cancellation / Date change policy (Australia and Fiji Tours)
3.11) The Australia and Fiji-based tours will operate under effect of our affiliate STA Travel Ltd’s Term and Conditions with respect to their change of date and flight ticket policies as outlined below:
3.12) If you wish to cancel your ticket before departure a cancellation fee of $250NZD is charged STA Travel and a $250NZD also charged by the airline. In the event that you do not show up for your flights or fail to cancel flights on which you are booked to travel but do not use, your ticket will be ineligible for a date change or refund. Please note that all applications for a refund must be completed within 21 calendar days of flights being cancelled. Any refund request outside this period will render your ticket ineligible for a refund.
3.13) If you wish to change the dates of your flights a $100NZD STA travel fee and a $100NZD Airline fee will be charged. Changes to your outbound flights will require any difference in airfare and taxes to be paid.
3.14) Please note, all changes are subject to availability and applicable ticket conditions.
Article 4. CONDITIONS OF TRAVEL
4.1) English is the spoken language during the tours by our driver/guide. We ask that you, too, speak solely in English as a courtesy for all those on board.
4.2) You agree that our tour operators may take photographs & films of you while on your trip and that these may be used in our brochures and/or advertising material without obtaining any further consent or payment in respect of such photographs and/or films.
4.3) Student Trips reserves the right to arrange alternative transport, travel routes, activities or accommodation.
4.4) Some services and activities are not operated by Student Trips and are subject to their own respective Terms and Conditions. It is your obligation to make sure you have read and are familiar with these.
4.5) The operator cannot be held responsible for any personal items or luggage passengers have forgotten to remove from the coach.
4.6) In the event of a coach breakdown, Student Trips reserves the right to alter the trips itinerary. Compensation will be considered if the coach is more than 3 hours late.
4.7) While we make every effort to ensure the safety of those who travel with us, we can not be held responsible for any personal injury or sickness to any customer or damage or loss of property while they are on our Trip. A trip waiver is required to be signed on each Trip.
4.8) If you are late to arrive at the agreed pick-up location, no refund can be given and you will be required to sort out your own transport to get to our location. We recommend you have a (charged) phone on you in case we have reception and attempt to make contact with you.
4.9) You must ensure you are medically and physically fit for travel. Student Trips may impose safety requirements necessary for the safe operation of the trip and reserve the right to exclude an individual from participating in a trip or activity if that individual’s participation poses a direct threat to health or safety. Please ensure you are familiar with the fitness requirements for our individual trips.
Article 5. BEHAVIOUR
5.1) As our trips cover a wide range of accommodation and activities, you agree to obey the rules of these individual providers.
5.2) You agree to accept the authority of the guide and/or coach driver and accept their decisions. No illegal drugs may be used for the duration the entire trip.
5.3) Student Trips reserves the right to request passengers leave the coach if their behaviour is detrimental to the enjoyment of other paying passengers. Everyone on board is entitled to a safe and fun trip. In such circumstances, no refunds shall be given and that passenger will be responsible for their own travel costs from that point.
5.4) You are responsible for any costs incurred as a result of damage or excess cleaning fees related to the coach and/or accommodation. It is advisable that you immediately report any pre-existing damage as soon as it is discovered.
Article 6. WHAT IS INCLUDED?
6) Please refer to our “whats included” section on the relevant Trip pages to see what each individual trip involves; transport, guides and meals as applicable.
NOTE: anyone with special dietary requirements can be catered for, but Student Trips must be notified at the time of the booking being made or more than 7 days in advance of the trip leaving. We will try to accommodate these needs where ever possible but please be aware there may be a small additional cost.
Article 7. DISPUTES
7) In the unlikely event you wish to raise an issues about your trip – please in the first instance advise your driver/guide of your concern. If your issue is not immediately addressed, please email or phone our office as soon as possible and we will look into your issue. All claims must be made within a 14 day period.
