Here’s something for the real fans and movie-lovers amongst us! Join us on our quest to visit Hobbiton and find out more about the wonderful world of Frodo and his fellow Hobbits. But what exactly are Hobbits? How do they live? Were they really that small? We will find out!
DAY TRIP
For this trip we will have a private bus driving us down to Matamata, the location of the perfectly preserved film set for the Lord of the Rings town of Hobbiton. Once we are there, our personal guide introduces us to this magical place and will answer any and all questions you have.
Step by step, we will walk through the village, explore all the tiny little details, dance around the oak tree, visit Bag-End and cross the double arched bridge. To round off our adventure, we will dress in a Hobbit’s clothes and enjoy a typical Hobbit-refreshment in the Green Dragon as well as having the opportunity to dine as the Gamgee, Took and Baggins families did.
To perfectly round off the day, we will pass the Hunua Ranges Regional Park and will show you another magical place – the Hunua Falls, a spectacular 30 meter waterfall.
