Join us on our trip to a beautiful East Coast Bay, where we will spend an action packed weekend crossing off a number of New Zealand’s “must sees”. We will begin by exploring New Zealands historic Goldmining trails before climbing to the top of a mountain that affords spectacular views across the entire region. From there, we will witness the effects first hand of New Zealand’s volcanic power at a thermal park with active geysers and hot water waterfalls. A great weekend for exploration, discovery and a whole lot of fun!

DAY 1

Gain an impression of the historic value of the region, as you embark on a gold mine track. This walk will follow the old remnants of railways that run through a natural gorge, before crossing two steel truss swing bridges and walking through a one kilometer long tunnel in which you could swear you can still feel the spirit of the former gold diggers

In the afternoon we will climb one of New Zealand's most famous hills, that will give one of the best views on offer. It is the perfect place to take in a breath-taking full 360 degree panorama out across New Zealand's east cost - make sure you bring your camera!

After soaking up the rest of the sunlight hours in New Zealand's sunniest region, we will leave for our accommodation and enjoy a pizza dinner together.

DAY 2

The second day begins with a simple breakfast before heading for the spectacular Thermal Wonderland. In this fascinating area in New Zealand you will be able to see evidence of the volcanic and thermal activity that goes on below the very ground we walk! This includes seeing active erupting Geysers, hot pools and waterfalls.
