Join the Student Trips Caving adventure down to a unique destination south of Auckland. This day trip will visit one of New Zealand’s best kept secrets, the Glow worm Caves. The day will include a visit to the beautiful black-sand surf beach, a professional guided tour through a spectacular Glow worm Caves and finally a bush walk to a secret waterfall.

DAY TRIP

Take a trip to an area where none of the other travel companies will ever take you! While it is largely unknown among tourists, this place features on the “101 must-do’s for Kiwi’s” list. It's surrounds are considered one of New Zealand’s most beautiful - and undiscovered destinations.

The drive itself down is impressive enough; rugged landscapes dominated by massive limestone boulders, deep valleys and huge cliff faces. The highlight of the trip, however, will be the exploration of the 1- kilometer long cave. Fortunately, this place is so secret that you will have a thorough, personal and unhurried tour and that will allow you to enjoy every minute and discover every corner of the cave. You will even get the chance to drink from the pure natural springs that bubble up from beneath the surface - It will be the best water you’ve ever tasted! Within the cave you will also crawl through a 12-meter long bottleneck, see enormous stalactites, stalagmites, giant pillars, fine straws and flowing shawls as well as witness thousands of glow worms, shining out from the caves roof like the stars in a night’s sky.

Following our cave adventure we will go for a short bush walk to find a hidden waterfall.
