The Tongariro Crossing was one of my highlights during my time in „Aotearoa“. The 7-hours-hike is exhausting but the view at the top is amazing and totally worth every step you have to take.

Een jaar geleden begon ik aan een van de grootse avonturen van mijn leven. In mijn eentje pakte ik een bijna 40 uur durende vlucht naar Nieuw-Zeeland. Met stagereizen naar de mooiste uithoeken van het land. Binnen 4 maanden heb ik alle grote steden en de mooiste plekken van het Noorder-Eiland bezocht. Even though I am a student, I don’t quiet fit in the age bracket they target but they welcomed me into the group regardless of my age. The bus ride was good, the driver in fact was great. The accommodation was nice, food was good. The main attraction of the trip was the Tongariro crossing which was absolutely amazing and on top of that they planned extra activities to fill the whole weekend from pick up till drop off. I was lucky enough to go on the Rotorua Rafting trip back in October. It was a fun filled weekend with lots of adventurous activities and a slice of Maori culture. The highlight of the trip for me was of course the rafting down the Kaituna river. The day was so much fun and really showed off New Zealand’s beauty and nature. Last year I went on adventure with Student Trips a couple of times. I will never forget the memories I’ve made with the people I met at the most beautiful and exciting places. For example the fun we had during our white water raft in Rotorua, the impressive Tongariro crossing, the surf lessons at Raglan, the boat trip in the Bay of Islands (which is my favorite place in NZ) and of course the bungee jump in Taupo!
